Frequently asked questions

How to start

BeMyEye allows Brands and Retailers to understand what actually goes on in-store, by using data collected by normal people, our ‘Eyes’.

Becoming an Eye couldn’t be easier:

- Download the app from Google Play or the App Store
- Sign up and you’re instantly active and ready to start doing Jobs
- Once you request a payment for the Jobs you’ve completed you’ll need to fill in your personal details. Please note, you must have a PayPal account so we can pay you

What are the Jobs like?

Jobs are small questionnaires that are published on the map. Some might ask you to go into stores and check for certain products, others may be mystery shopping tasks where you’re required to interact with a member of staff. There is lots of variety and you can pick whichever Jobs you feel comfortable doing – as many or as few as you like.

Every Job is worth a certain number of credits, 100 credits = £1.00. On average, Jobs tend to pay between £5 and £10.

How will you pay me?

Inside the ‘Wallet’ section, you’ll find a list of the different Jobs you have completed. These are split into three categories – Approved, Pending and Rejected. Our team will evaluate your work as soon as possible, but please allow up to 7 days.

All credits are converted at the rate of 100 credits = £1.00. You can withdraw money from your wallet when:

- You have more than £10 in your wallet
- It’s been at least 14 days since your last withdrawal

All you have to do is hit the ‘Cash’ button and then click ‘Send to PayPal’. Payments are made twice weekly, on Monday and Thursday evenings and once your payment is completed, you’ll receive an email to confirm the outcome of the transaction. If there is an error with your PayPal account, we’ll notify you. At the beginning of each year we’ll send you a statement showing all of your payments for the previous year.

Why do you block phones that have been Jailbroken?

Jailbreaking is a free and legal practice, however it eliminates some of the features carried out by our operating system. Because the reliability of our store checks is a key point for the data we provide to our clients, we prefer to rely on Eyes who do not have Jailbroken smart phones.

If you want to completely remove the Jailbreak from your smartphone, you can use one of the many guidelines available online. All procedures generally require a backup of the phone, a transition to DFU mode, and then a restore. If you're not familiar with these procedures, you may want to seek help from a technical expert.

Should I declare my earnings to HMRC?

At the beginning of each year, we will send you a statement for all of your payments made in the previous year. It is your responsibility to take action if you need to declare your earnings to HMRC.
